“How in the hell do you follow up a triple record opus? If you are Joel Plaskett, you get back to basics, that’s how. Joel Plaskett’s new record was written over the course of 10 weeks at the rate of one song per week. Whether it was these constraints or other factors that were his guiding light, Plaskett continues to be the pride of Dartmouth for a very good reason. These tracks owe as much to Plaskett’s pop past as any of his other work yet he still manages to sound incredibly fresh. Scrappy Happiness indeed.”
