Now, a good friend of mine recommended Joel Plaskett to me a few months ago. I listened to a song, didn’t think much of it, and went on with my life. Last week, I listened again. And, as I’m sure you know since I’m writing this, I fell in love. He’s such an amazing lyricist! I consider the guy to be on the same level as Paul Simon and Brian May — just a notch below Nick Drake. Seriously, amazing. I’m not really a huge Thrush Hermit fan, but go check out some of his solo work or Joel Plaskett Emergency. You will not be disappointed. The lineup for Ottawa FolkFest hasn’t been released yet, so I’m still hoping he’ll be there!
