I am saddened to just find out that one of my favorite songwriters, Vic Chesnutt, passed away during the holidays. I got to see Vic at the Double Deuce during the Halifax Pop Explosion in the mid nineties and again in Austin, Texas during SXSW 1998. At this show he debuted his record, Bernadette vs The Salesman, singing it karaoke style to the instrumental backing tracks Lambchop had recorded. When CD starting skipping he picked up the guitar and continued solo. I feel fortunate to have seen these incredible and memorable shows. His songs are so unique. Here is a moving performance of one of my favorites, Supernatural. I miss you, Vic. Thanks for the music.
