“I don’t feel young anymore. But I don’t feel old. I do feel like I’m in the middle somewhere, but I can still remind myself of what it felt like to be young, to be a teenager or be in my early twenties, and feel that anxiety and excitement that comes with that situation. Traveling to places for the first time, feeling edgy about stuff, feeling like I’ve got to carve a space for myself as a musician, hating stuff virulently, really actively hating shit – and then, as you get a bit older, you kind of go ‘ah, it takes all kinds’.”
